News You Can Use June 2021


June 20th, marks the calendar with the longest day. The Longest Day is the day with the most light - the summer solstice. On June 20th, people from across the world will fight the darkness of Alzheimer's by doing fundraising activities of their choice.


Farmington Hills Inn is very excited in the participation so far that we have received for raising money for the Alzheimer's Association. We currently have T-shirts available for $10.00. We also have a smart T.V. raffle and a 50/50 raffle. You cn buy raffle tickets in the front office. Winners will be announced on August 13, 2021. Our goal is to outshine all of our previous years.

Nurse's Notes February 2020


Prescription Orders:


Farmington Hills Inn is obligated to follow physician's orders regarding medications. We cannot discontinue or add any medications without written authorization from the resident's doctor. If you would like any changes made to a resident's precription regimen, you must bring us the paper scripts or have the physician fax it to us. This includes over the counter medications like Tylenol, aspirin, eye drops, creams/ointments etc.


Personal Item Reminders:


As a reminder, for the safety of all of our rsidents, residents are not permitted to have space heaters, electri blankets, coffee pots, or any other heat producing items in their room. All refrigerators must have a thermo...

News You Can Use October 2019


Refrigerators:


If your loved one has a refrigerator in his or her room, you must have a thermometer inside. Farmington Hills Inn is not responsible for the ceaning or maintenance of these personal appliances so please be sure to check dates on food, sanitize and defrost regularly. Any item with a concentrator (such as a refrigerator or oxygen concentrator) must be plugged directly into the wall and NOT into a power strip. All power strips must be NSF approved with a built in surge protector. Please make the extra effort this month to follow up on each of these issues.

What's Making You Burp?


Bevarage Burps - It's the fizz. Soda, beer and all the other bubbly drinks are made with a gas ccalled carbon dioxide. This adds extra air in your stomach, which finds its way back up the same way it entered: through your mouth.

News You Can Use October 2018


Get your Flu Shot!



Michigan Community VNA Wellness will be conducting a flu shot clinic at Farmington Hills Inn on October 23, 2018. The clinic will be held from 9am - 12pm in the game room. A consent form, which was mailed with the October statements, must be completed and returned to the Wellness Center prior to the clinic. There are additional forms available at the Wellness Center. Flu shots will not be administered without a completed consent form and you will be responsible for having your loved one vaccinated. Cost of the flu shot will be billed to the insurance provider on file by VNA. Responsible party is not required to accompany resident to the clinic.

Whats Happening at Farmington Hills Inn?


As you have probably noticed there have been some changes made in the community. We have installed new and brighter LED lighting throughout the building. The service hallway as been freshly painted and we will be installing new carpet throughout the building in the next few months. We hope you enjoy the new decor!


Furthermore, we would like to welcome Karen Shepard as our new Admissions Coordinator. Karen also works at our sister facility, "Arbor Inn". She is here on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Please stop in and say hello!
